The EB-5 Investor Visa is a visa category of the US Immigration Code and is administered by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). EB-5 offers a pathway to residency (i.e.: Green Card) for individuals and their immediate families. The program offers these benefits with specific expectations on how the accompanying investment is deployed and the economic impact it is required to create.
An EB-5 Regional Center is a "Public-Private Partnership" approved by US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) providing EB-5 investment services. A regional center assists in navigating the particulars of EB-5 program as well as the commercial, legal, and regulatory environment that the investor would otherwise need to confront alone. Only through a Regional Center can an international investor participate passively in commercial construction projects to be eligible for an EB-5 visa.
An EB-5 Investment Intermediary is a foreign person - i.e.: not a US citizen - who operates as an agent of an EB-5 Regional Center in a foreign country. The intermediary identifies potential investors, and provides them with information on the center and program. Intermediaries facilitate communication and assist in documentation needs to meet all commercial, regulatory, and compliance requirements for a successful EB-5 investment.
